This specimen was lot 6347 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $92. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guanajuato. 8 Reales, 1897-RS. Light golden toning, sharply struck. BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." The SCWC notes that the date is common in all grades.
Recorded mintage: 4,344,000.
