This specimen was lot 1438 in Stack's "Vermuele, Ward & Mexico Maxico" sale (New York, January 2010), where it sold for $1,150. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Republic. 5 Pesos, 1892 Zs Z. Zacatecas. Bold eagle facing r. with snake in beak. Rv. Cap and Rays above scales of Justice, dagger, and scroll of laws. Sharply impressed, rich golden-yellow color and the surfaces are decent for this era. The 2 was punched in a little wide in the date, far from the 189. Brilliant Uncirculated."
