Mexico 1892-As L 10 centavos

from the Stack's Bowers sale of the Kirk Menczer Collection, lot 71242

This specimen was lot 71242 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $264. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Centavos, 1892-As L. Alamos Mint. NGC AU-55. Only example in NGC Census. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Alamos mint struck this silver ten centavos 1874-93. Altho no date is rare, all the dates are at least somewhat scarce. The 1875-A^S and 1892-A^S are listed as the most common dates for this mint.

Recorded mintage: 57,000.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
