This specimen was lot 2225 in Goldberg sale 93 (Los Angeles, September 2016), where it sold for $129.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 4 Reales, 1816-Mo JJ NGC G6. Ferdinand VII. NGC graded Good-6." The four reales was the least frequently issued silver denomination during the war of independence. They were minted at Mexico City 1816-21; all dates are scarce to rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 13.54 grams, 0.896 fine silver, .390 troy oz ASW.
