Malta 1981 5 pounds
This specimen was lot 33431 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $1,500. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic silver Proof Piefort "Year of the Child" 5 Pounds 1981 PR68 Ultra Cameo NGC, Valcambi mint. Illustrating four children playing Il-Passju on one side and a sun and boat motif on the other. From a very low mintage, a type difficult to obtain in as magnificent a grade as the present specimen, demonstrating an exquisite Proof contrast between the flashy fields and matte devices." Even the regular issue, whose specification we have given below, is not common.

Specification: 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver, 38 mm diameter.
