Künker sale 404, lot 2349

This specimen was lot 2349 in Künker sale 404 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €5,000 (about US$6,561 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DAS ERZBISTUM MAINZ. ERZBISCHOF ANSELM CASIMIR WAMBOLDT VON UMSTADT, 1629-1647. Die Münzstätte Mainz. ¼ Reichstaler 1636, Mainz. Mit Signatur verschränkte Hände unter Krone. Brustbild r. in geistlichem Ornat//Dreifach behelmtes, vierfeldiges Wappen (Mainz/Wamboldt-Umstadt), dahinter Schwert und Krummstab gekreuzt. Von großer Seltenheit. Kl. Henkelspur, sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion Numismatica Ranieri Online Auction 8, Bologna 2021, Nr. 390. Erworben 2021 von der Münzenhandlung Johannes Diller, München. (Germany, archbishopric of Mainz, Anselm Casimir Wamboldt of Umstadt, 1629-47, quarter thaler of 1636, Mainz mint, hands clasped under crown with signature. Obverse: bust right in episcopal robes; reverse: triple-helmeted, quartered arms of Mainz and Wamboldt-Umstadt, crozier and sword behind. Extremely rare, small mount mark, very fine.)"

This quarter thaler also comes with a small bust (KM 62). Both are rare.
