This specimen was lot 56663 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. 5000 Dinars, SH 1304 (1925). Tehran Mint. Reza Pahlavi. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details." This silver crown was issued 1925-26 by the new Pahlavi regime which had just overthrown the bankrupt Qajars. The "SH" calendar was a solar version of the Muslim AH calendar which, being lunar based, starts on a different date each year.

Recorded mintage: 500,000.

Specification: 23.02 g, 0.900 fine silver.
