This specimen was lot 1243 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 250 Dinars 1343 AH (1924/1925 AD), Tehran Mint. Lion & Sun type. NGC UNC Details. Slightly cleaned. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 252. Bought from Spink & Son, London, 1996."
This type was struck AH 1332-1343 during the reign of Ahmad Shah (r. 1909-25). Ahmad Shah left for Europe in 1923 and was absent during the coup of 1925 which ousted him.
Recorded mintage: 186,000.
