Iran AH 1307 500 dinars
This specimen was lot 4171 in Sincona sale 67 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$658 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty | Nâsir al-dîn Shâh, 1264-1313 H./1848-1896 AD, Machine struck coinage, always with the mint name Tihrân, silver coins. 500 Dinars or 1/2 Qiran 1307 H. On his arrival from his last journey to Europe (frank). in wreath be-jashn-i muqaddam sâhânshâhî az safar-i frank, rev. lion and sun above value in wreath. PCGS XF40."
This silver commemorative was struck the one year only. With the coming of the milled coinage, all of the branch mints were closed and all production was completed in Tehran.
