Iran AH 1308 100 dinars

Sincona sale 67, lot 4209

This specimen was lot 4209 in Sincona sale 67 (Zürich, October 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted,

"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty | Nâsir al-dîn Shâh, 1264-1313 H./1848-1896 AD, Machine struck coinage, always with the mint name Tihrân, copper coins. 100 Dinars 1308 H. Weak strike but lustrous, thus very fine."

This copper coin struck AH 1297-1308 and 1313 plus various bungled dates. With the coming of the milled coinage, all of the branch mints were closed and all production was completed in Tehran.
