Sincona sale 85, lot 1017

This specimen was lot 1017 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 7,000 CHF (about US$9,427 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Nasir al-Din Shah, 1264-1313 AH (1848-1896). 2 Tomans 1307 AH (1890 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. Very rare. NGC UNC Details. Spot removed on obverse. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 41. From the Leeds collection, Baldwin's Dubai, March 2000, lot 566"

With the coming of the milled coinage, all of the branch mints were closed and all production was completed in Tehran. This one year type bears the dates AH 1299 and AH 1307.
