Sincona sale 85, lot 1016

This specimen was lot 1016 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 1,600 CHF (about US$2,155 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Nasir al-Din Shah, 1264-1313 AH (1848-1896). 2 Tomans 1299 AH (1882 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. NGC MS62. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 33."

With the coming of the milled coinage, all of the branch mints were closed and all production was completed in Tehran. One thousand dinars made a kran and ten kran made a toman. The SCWC lists this for AH 1297-1299.
