Sincona sale 67, lot 4175

This specimen was lot 4175 in Sincona sale 67 (Zürich, October 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty | Nâsir al-dîn Shâh, 1264-1313 H./1848-1896 AD, Machine struck coinage, always with the mint name Tihrân, silver coins. 1 Qiran 1299 H. Name and title including sâhibqirânin in wreath, rev. lion and sun, date and value, all in wreath. Date rather unclear, good very fine."

This type was struck AH 1298-1303 and undated. One kran equalled one thousand dinars. With the coming of the milled coinage, all of the branch mints were closed and all production was completed in Tehran.
