Sincona sale 67, lot 4204

This specimen was lot 4204 in Sincona sale 67 (Zürich, October 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty | Nâsir al-dîn Shâh, 1264-1313 H./1848-1896 AD, Machine struck coinage, always with the mint name Tihrân, copper coins. 1 Shahi (= 50 Dinars) 1305 H. Very fine."

This copper coin was also struck undated. It was probably intended to replace a silver coin struck at the same time. One shahi was fifty dinars. With the coming of the milled coinage, all of the branch mints were closed and all production was completed in Tehran.
