Hannover 1719-HCB thaler Dav-2075
This specimen was lot 5697 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €700 (about US$974 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, - als Georg I. König von Großbritannien, 1714-1727. Reichstaler 1719, Clausthal. Ausbeute der Grube St. Andreas. Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Heidelberger Münzhandlung, Herbert Grün 47, Heidelberg 2007, Nr. 3052. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, as George I, king of Great Britain, 1714-27, thaler of 1719, Clausthal mint, for the St. Andrew mine. Handsome patina, about extremely fine.)"
This type, with St. Andrew on the reverse, was struck 1718-27. Leaping stallion thalers, wild man thalers and bust thalers were also struck at this time.
