Jean Elsen sale 151, lot 1384

This specimen was lot 1384 in Jean Elsen sale 151 (Brussels, June 2022), where it sold for €360 (about US$450 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ALLEMAGNE, BRUNSWICK-CALENBERG-HANOVRE, Georg Ier, roi d'Angleterre (1714-1727), AR 2/3 Taler, 1719HCB, Clausthal. D/ Croix formée de quatre écus couronnés (Angleterre, France, Irlande et Brunswick). R/ Cheval bondissant à g. Rare Fines griffes. Belle patine. Superbe. (Germany, electorate of Hannover, George I, king of England, 1714-27, silver 2/3 thaler of 1719, Clausthal mint. Obverse: cross formed of four shields (England, France, Ireland and Brunswick); reverse: a stallion leaping left. Rare, fine scratches, nice patina, Extremely Fine.)"

This type was struck 1719-27. Numerous other gulden exist (bust obverse or "wild man" obverse) as well as 24 mariengroschen (KM 73, last struck in 1715).
