Great Britain (1644-45) half crown KM-320
This specimen was lot 1131 in CNG Triton XXIX (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $3,981.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "STUART. Charles I. 1625-1649. AR Halfcrown. Worcester mint; im: –. Struck 1644-1645. CAROLVS : D : G : MAG : BR : FR : ET : HI : RX : (double annulet stops), Charles on horseback left, holding sword and reins / CHRISTO · AVSPICE · REGNO (rosette stops), crowned coat-of-arms. Old cabinet toning, ragged edge, some cabinet friction. Near VF. Very rare. Only four of this variety known to Bull. From the Michael Casick Collection of British Hammered Coins." While the auctioneers are generally careful with their attributions, they didn't waste time trying to assign this example a KM number. The SCWC mentions KM 317.2 (W below horse), 318.1 (square top shield), 318.2 (grass below horse), 319.1 (crowned and draped arms, LIS in legend), 319.2 (FLORENT CONCORDIA REGNA), 320 (roses in legend), 321 (square top shield), 322.1 (roses in legend, Briot style figure of the king), 322.2 (as 322.1 but with C R), 323 (pudgy king, without C R on reverse), 324 (stars in legend) and 325 (mintmark HC) just for the half crowns from Worcester and of them, only three have photos.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
