This specimen was lot 10242 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $1,292. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Franc, 1830-B. NGC AU-58. Toned with much remaining luster. From the Demarete Collection." This type was struck 1825-30 and most of the seventy known dates are rare. This one from the Rouen mint is scarce but not a key.

Recorded mintage: 63,767.

Specification: 27 mm diameter, 10 grams, 0.900 fine silver, .289 troy oz ASW.
