It is a fairly scarce date of a common type. The various designs of Napoleonic five francs form eight distinct types of which this is the last, struck 1809-14 with a complete set of this type comprising 86 date and mintmark combinations, some very rare. The 1810-A is the common mint for the year. In 1809, the reverse was revised to read "EMPIRE FRANÇAISE".
