France 1810-L 5 francs
The first specimen was lot 20447 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $493.50. The catalog description[2] noted, "FRANCE. 5 Franc, 1810-L. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder. Tulip privy mark. CONDITION RARITY. Much better mint and in phenomenal condition, with bold hair and laureates along with plenty of luster. Light to moderate toning." The mintmark "L" resumed its normal position in 1811.
