This specimen was lot 7170 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 2 Pence, (1422-30). Calais Mint; mm: plain Cross. NGC VF Details--Environmental Damage. Boldly struck and very pleasing, this Twopence or 1/2 Groat has all of the design elements clearly visible." Half groats were struck at London, Calais and York during this reign. The London and Calais issues are common while the York product is rare. The largest silver coin was the groat or four pence.
