The first specimen was lot 10136 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €312 (about US$325). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Krone, 1621. Christian IV. NGC AU Details--Environmental Damage. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." The second specimen was lot 10141 in the same sale, where it sold for €900 (about US$938). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Krone, 1621. Christian IV. NGC AU-50. Excellent toning. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex: August K. Krautwald Collection (Private Sale - 1916)." This type was struck 1619-22 with various mintmarks and varieties and was worth 3/4 speciedaler. "· R · F · P ·" is not a mintmark but the king's motto, "REGNA FIRMAT PIETAS". Christian IV (r. 1588-1648) had a long but only moderately successful reign. His war with Sweden and his intervention in the Thirty Years War were costly and brought little gain.
