This specimen was lot 22177 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $734.38. The catalog description[1] noted, "CUBA. 4 Pesos, 1916. NGC MS-64. Good strike, light toning with soft satin luster." This gold four pesos was struck at the Philadelphia mint for Cuba during a brief sugar boom during World War I. The type was struck 1915-16 only.
Recorded mintage: 129,000 plus 90 proofs.
