This specimen was lot 54094 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Gold 10 Yuan, 1997. Unicorn Series. NGC PROOF-68 Ultra Cameo. A brilliant Proof with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices." This unicorn series of gold bullion coins, designed to appeal to western and eastern buyers, ran for a number of years but never took off the way the pandas did.

Specification: 3.11 g, 0.999 fine gold, 18 mm diameter, 0.10 troy oz AGW.
