Sincona sale 80, lot 2183

This specimen was lot 2183 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,798 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA | Volksrepublik, 50 Yuan 1997. Panda. Large date. NGC MS68." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more. Small and large date varieties exist.

Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.500 troy oz AGW.
