This specimen was lot 1666 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "China. 25 Yuan, 1983. Panda walking in inner circle right. NGC graded MS-69." The twenty-five yuan was used for the one quarter ounce gold panda starting in 1983, with a different reverse for each year. The series is still in production tho the quarter ounce piece is now 200 yuan.

Recorded mintage: 43,827.

Specification: 7.78 g, 0.999 fine gold, .250 troy oz AGW.
