China 1983 10 yuan KM-69

Goldberg sale 106, lot 1662

This specimen was lot 1662 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $132. The catalog description^[1] noted, "China. 10 Yuan, 1983. Panda right. NGC graded MS-68." The ten yuan was used for the one tenth ounce gold panda starting in 1983, with a different reverse for each year. The series is still in production tho the tenth ounce piece is now 50 yuan.

Recorded mintage: 82,013.

Specification: 3.11 g, 0.999 fine gold, .100 troy oz AGW.
