China 1982 20 yuan KM-56
This specimen was lot 30612 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "People's Republic silver "Year of the Dog" Proof 20 Yuan 1982 PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC. Essentially as-made quality with intricately frosted raised surfaces that appear to float atop the deeply reflective fields." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more. This NCLT has the same module as the Year of the Cock (KM 40) issued the year before but is denominated 20 yuan instead of 30 yuan. The next year's issue, for the Year of the Pig (KM 73), was a ten yuan.

Specification: 15 g, .850 fine silver, .410 troy oz ASW.
