This specimen was lot 3006 in Stephen Album sale 37 (Santa Rosa, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $89.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA (PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC): AV 10 yuan, 1983, Jiayuguan fortress // Marco Polo (1254-1324) bust, in original capsule of issue, Proof." This was accompanied by KM-65 (silver five jiao), KM-77 (silver five yuan with Marco Polo), KM-80 (gold 100 yuan), KM-81 (gold 500 yuan).

Recorded mintage: 50,000 proofs.

Specification: 1.2 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.034 troy oz AGW, 14 mm diameter.
