The first specimen was lot 2776 in Aureo y Calicó sale 422 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 120 € (about US$155 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "1795. Carlos IV. Santiago. DA. 4 reales. BC-/BC [about fine]." This type was struck at Santiago 1792-1808 in limited numbers and, tho not common, is much less rare than preceding types. The second specimen was lot 875 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 38 (Winter Park, FL, November 2025), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[2] noted, "CHILE, Santiago, bust 4 reales, Charles IV, 1795 DA, NGC AU 55 (Colección Val y Mexía Label), finest known in NGC census, ex-Tarapacá. Bold and well-detailed strike, nice luster and splashy golden toning, full rims. Pedigreed to the Tarapacá Collection and to the Val y Mexía Collection. Lot 23802: The Tarapaca Collection of Chilean Coins sold for $2400 (September 7, 2011). Note from the collector: Very Rare, with a mintage of only 11,000 coins."
