Künker sale 386, lot 5062

This specimen was lot 5062 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €320 (about US$414 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, Ludwig Rudolf, 1731-1735, seit 1714 in Blankenburg. 24 Mariengroschen 1732, Zellerfeld. RR Vorzüglich. (duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Louis Rudolf, 1731-35, since 1714 duke in Blankenburg, 24 mariengroschen of 1732, Zellerfeld mint. Very rare, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1731-35 during Ludwig Rudolf's short reign as duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. It is still fairly common. This denomination was also struck with a leaping stallion reverse (KM 813) but not in 1732.
