Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 1732-IAB thaler Dav-2137
This specimen was lot 5061 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €400 (about US$517 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, Ludwig Rudolf, 1731-1735, seit 1714 in Blankenburg. Reichstaler 1732, Zellerfeld. Feine Patina, winz. Schrötlingsfehler, vorzüglich. (duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Louis Rudolf, 1731-35, since 1714 duke in Blankenburg, thaler of 1732, Zellerfeld mint. Fine patina, small flan flaws, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1731-34 during Ludwig Rudolf's short reign as duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. It is still fairly common. Prior to succeeding to Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Ludwig Rudolf was prince of Brunswick-Blankenburg 1690-1731.
