This specimen was lot 55519 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 12 Mariengroschen, 1723-EPH. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. PCGS AU-58. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1714-31 and is fairly common. Twelve mariengroschen made one-third of a thaler or half a gulden.
