This specimen was lot 22561 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. 2/3 Taler, 1696-HCH. Rudolph August and Anton Ulrich (1685-1704). NGC MS-60. Also valued at 24 Mariengroschen. Lustrous with hairlines in the fields from past handling and several areas of weakness in the design that result from striking on an uneven planchet." This type is listed in the SCWC as a 24 mariengroschen. It was struck 1694-1705. The leaping stallion obverse was also used on the 6 mariengroschen and 12 mariengroschen.
