This specimen was lot 1522 in Künker Auction 75 (Osnabrück, June 2002), where it sold for €180. The catalog description noted,
"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN, BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, HERZOGTUM, Reichstaler 1664, Zellerfeld. Hausknechtstaler. Sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Augustus the Younger, 1635-66, "houseboy" thaler of 1664, Zellerfeld mint. Very fine.)"
This 1664 is a scarce date of a common type struck 1653-65. In fact, we have seen several specimens of Dav-6342 ("AUGUSTUS" on the left) misattributed as this type.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 29 g, 0.875 fine silver, 42 mm diameter, this specimen 28,59 g.
