This specimen was lot 32856 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "Brunswick-Lüneburg-Celle. Friedrich Taler 1647-LW XF45 NGC, Clausthal mint. Ash gray toning with all details clearly defined. Becoming scarce. From the Jamestown Collection." This type was struck 1647-48 and is fairly common. The Duchy of Brunswick was divided and subdivided in the seventeenth century but was eventually reassembled as the Kingdom of Hannover before being absorbed into Prussia in 1866.
