Künker sale 386, lot 5133

This specimen was lot 5133 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €440 (about US$569 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG-CELLE, FÜRSTENTUM, Friedrich, 1636-1648. Reichstaler 1648, Clausthal. Hübsche Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle, Frederick, 1636-48, thaler of 1648, Clausthal mint. Handsome patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"

The SCWC lists three thalers for this state in 1648; KM 155.1/Dav-6488 (date at top), KM 169.2/Dav-6498 (date at left, shown here, struck 1647-48) and KM 192/Dav-6500 (on his death). This is the most common of the three.
