Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle 1648-LW thaler Dav-6500
This specimen was lot 5134 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,163 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG-CELLE, FÜRSTENTUM, Friedrich, 1636-1648. Reichstaler 1648, Clausthal, auf seinen Tod am 10. Dezember. R Feine Patina, sehr schön +. (duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle, Frederick, 1636-48, thaler of 1648, Clausthal mint, on his death on December 10. Fine patina, choice very fine.)"
The SCWC lists three thalers for this state in 1648; KM 155.1/Dav-6488 (date at top), KM 169.2/Dav-6498 (date at left, struck 1647-48) and KM 192/Dav-6500 (on his death, shown here). This is the most expensive of the three.
