Bolivia 1750-P q real
This specimen was lot 73533 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA. Cob Real, 1750-P. Potosi Mint. Ferdinand VI. PCGS VF-25. From the Richard August Collection." This date is known with assayer "q" (operated 1744-60) and assayer "E" (operated 1750-51). The Potosí mint was the most prolific issuer of silver during the seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries, nearly all of it cobs such as this. This type was struck 1747-60. The Potosí mint was the last to abandon the manufacture of cobs, in 1773.
