Stephen Album sale 38, lot 2665

This specimen was lot 2665 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $261.80. The catalog description[1] noted, "BENGAL PRESIDENCY: AR rupee, Murshidabad, year 19, with five point rosette or 'star' on the obverse and 'S' on the reverse, East India Company issue in the name of Shah Alam II, vertical edge milling, struck in Calcutta, a lovely toned example! PCGS graded MS64." These quarter rupees, half rupees and rupees were struck 1793-1818 at Calcutta and Murshidabad in the name of the Mogul emperor Shah Alam II.
