Sincona sale 39, lot 3368

This specimen was lot 3368 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$780 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Baden, Grossherzogtum, Friedrich I. 1852-1907 2 Mark 1905 G. Karlsruhe. Polierte Platte. FDC. NGC PF 65 Cameo. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (grand duchy of Baden, Frederick I, 1852-1907, two mark of 1905, Karlsruhe mint. Choice Proof. Magnificent condition.)"

This type was struck 1902-07 and is common but the proofs are scarce to rare.

Recorded mintage: 609,835 plus proofs.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge, this specimen 11.12 g.
