Baden 1904-G 10 mark
This specimen was lot 6165 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €550 (about US$711 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"REICHSGOLDMÜNZEN, BADEN, Friedrich I. 1852-1907. 10 Mark 1904. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (grand duchy of Baden, Frederick I, 1852-1907, ten mark of 1904. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
Altho Baden was not a major issuer of coins prior to unification, its issues during the Empire (1871-1918) were substantial. The Baden mint at Karlsruhe (mintmark "G") struck minor coins during the Empire and afterward until today. This type was struck 1902-07 for Friedrich I, grand duke 1852-1907. This older bust of the grand duke also appears on two mark (KM 278) and five mark (KM 274).
