Austrian Netherlands 1750(h) 1/4 ducaton
This specimen was lot 676 in Jean Elsen sale 158 (Brussels, March 2024), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,105 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRABANT, Duché, Marie-Thérèse (1740-1780), AR quart de ducaton, 1750, Anvers. D/ B. dr. et diad. à d. R/ Ecu couronné sur une croix de Bourgogne. Très Beau à Superbe. (duchy of Brabant, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, quarter ducaton of 1750, Antwerp mint. Obverse: draped and diademed bust right; reverse: crowned arms over a Burgundian cross. Very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"
This type is recorded for 1749-53 from Antwerp and Bruges and is doubtless rarer than the SCWC gives credit.
