Künker Auction 441, lot 4918

This specimen was lot 4918 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €440 (about US$605 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"KAISERREICH ÖSTERREICH, Franz I., 1804-1835. 1/2 Konv.-Taler 1826 A, Wien. Vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung Kommerzialrat Dr. Herbert Wenzel, Wien. Exemplar der Auktion Münchner Münzhandlung Karl Kreß 117, München 1961, Nr. 1522. (empire of Austria, Francis I, 1804-35, half convention thaler of 1826, Vienna mint, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1825-30 at Vienna, Kremnitz (mintmark "B"), Prague (mintmark "C") and Karlsburg (mintmark "E", 1830 only) in modest numbers.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.

Specification: 14.03 g, 0.833 fine silver, 35 mm diameter, lettered edge, this specimen 14,05 g.
