Sincona sale 18, lot 3100

This specimen was lot 3100 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Konventionstaler 1775. Wien. Selten. Sehr schön-gutes sehr schön. (Austria, convention thaler of 1775, Vienna mint, rare, very fine to extremely fine.)"

On the death of Francis of Lorraine in 1765, his and Maria Theresia's son was crowned emperor Joseph II tho Maria Theresia remained the boss until her death in 1780. This type of 1773-80 is common.
