Künker sale 385, lot 3793

This specimen was lot 3793 in Künker sale 385 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €480 (about US$620 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Josef II. 1765-1790. Konv.-Taler 1777, F/VC-S, Hall. Patina, sehr schön +. (Holy Roman Empire, Joseph II, 1765-90, convention thaler of 1777. Toned, choice very fine.)"

This thaler was struck at Hall for emperor Joseph II. Another thaler (Dav-1116) featured the veiled bust of the widowed Maria Theresia.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 27.94 g.
