Sincona sale 66, lot 1833

This specimen was lot 1833 in Sincona sale 66 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 2,300 CHF (about US$3,028 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HEILIGES ROMISCH REICH, Karl VII. 1726-1745. 1/2 Dukat 1740, Wien. Selten. Fast FDC. Winzige Druckstellen auf der Vorderseite. (Austria, Charles VI, 1711-40, half ducat of 1740, Vienna mint. Rare, About uncirculated, Tiny pressure marks on obverse.)"

This type was struck 1731-40 at the Vienna mint.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.75 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 1.72 g.
