Sincona sale 66, lot 1828

This specimen was lot 1828 in Sincona sale 66 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 1,300 CHF (about US$1,712 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HEILIGES ROMISCH REICH, Karl VI. 1711-1740. 1/4 Dukat 1740 NB, Nagybànya. Selten. Vorzüglich-FDC. Feine Kratzer. (Austria, Charles VI, 1711-40, quarter ducat of 1740, Nagybànya mint. Rare, Extremely fine-uncirculated, Minor hairlines.)"

This type was struck 1730, 1732, 1735, 1737 and 1740 for circulation in Hungary and Transylvania. It is noted as slightly scarce.
