Sincona sale 76, lot 1454

This specimen was lot 1454 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$364 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Karl VI. 1711-1740. 30 Kreuzer 1740 KB, Kremnitz. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-FDC. NGC MS61. Feine Patina. (Austria, Charles VI, 1711-40, thirty kreuzer of 1740, Kremnitz mint. Rare in this condition, Extremely fine-uncirculated, Nicely toned.)"

This issue of 1739-40 was the first time this denomination was minted in Hungary. The Madonna and Child reverse was specific to Hungary.

Recorded mintage: unknown but slightly scarce.

Specification: 7.20 g, 0.875 fine silver, this specimen 7.19 g.
