Künker sale 406, lot 4592

This specimen was lot 4592 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €2,000 (about US$2,624 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Josef I. 1705-1711. 1/4 Reichstaler 1707, St. Veit. R Hübsche Patina, kl. Druckstellen im Feld der Vorderseite, kl. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, vorzüglich. (Austria, Joseph I, 1705-11, quarter thaler of 1707, St. Veit mint. Rare, handsome patina, punch mark in the obverse, some planchet flaws on the rim, extremely fine.)"

This was the only quarter thaler of Joseph I's reign other than an undated issue from the Hall mint.
